Salted Brown Butter Puppy Chow

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter

1 cup peanut butter

8 ounces or 2 cups of chopped dark/semi-sweet chocolate/chips

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1 box chex cereal (12 oz.)

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions:

Brown the butter - to do this, place stick of butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Heat until butter is melted then continue stirring on medium heat. Butter will bubble and begin to turn brown (this may take 5 to 7 minutes). Once butter smelly nutty and is a light brown color, turn off heat.

Add chocolate and stir until chocolate is melted. Add peanut butter, vanilla and salt and stir.

Place chex cereal in a large bowl or dutch oven. Pour chocolate peanut butter mixture over cereal and stir until all cereal is coated. Sift powdered sugar over the chex and stir as you go, coating the puppy chow in powdered sugar.

On a cookie sheet lined with parchment, transfer the puppy chow from the bowl, creating an even layer.

Freeze for 15 minutes. When done freezing, dust with more powdered sugar. You’re done!
